What is ENT and Head and Surgery?
Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT), and Head & Neck Surgery is a specialty for diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving ear, nose, throat, and neck regions. It includes vast diseases from blockage of normal function, to trauma injury, infection and tumors involving these areas.
Who and when should seek help?
Individuals from any age group who experience ear, nose, throat problems, include hearing & balance, impacted ear wax, ear canal infection, ear drum perforation, foreign body in the ear, nose or throat, rhinosinusitis, nasal polyp, allergic rhinitis, recurrent tonsillitis, snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, and abnormal growth in the neck region and many more.
What are the treatments offered?
For each disease or problem, there are different modes of treatment, ranging from medical treatment, suctioning to surgical repair, removal and excision. Treatment for injury and diseases related to ENT include endoscopy, suctioning, biopsy, head and neck masses excision and other serious conditions requiring invasive surgical procedure.
Surgery Procedures
Some problems of ENT and Head and Neck require surgical intervention depending on the disease or injury. Malignancies in the head and neck – such as thyroid, salivary gland, larynx and oral - may require ENT surgery. Common surgical procedures performed:-
