The Breast & Endocrine Surgery service at Sunway Medical Centre Velocity is a one-stop multidisciplinary centre that aims to provide a comprehensive management for patients with breast, thyroid and parathyroid diseases. Our Breast & Endocrine Surgeon provides a top-class management for both benign (non-cancer) and malignant (cancer) conditions with the support of highly trained Radiologist, Oncologist, Pathologist as well as other health care professionals, who are all available within the same centre.

• Breast screening & Genetic screening for patients without symptoms.
• For patients with breast symptoms such as:
  • Breast swelling or lump
  • Skin dimpling
  • Breast or nipple pain
  • Nipple retraction (turning inward)
  • Nipple or breast skin that is red, dry, flaking or thickened
  • Nipple discharge
  • Lump or pain at the armpit
• Thyroid/neck  pain or swelling
• Parathyroid diseases (eg: patients with problems related to renal failure or hypercalcaemia)

Breast:

• Triple assessment: (Assessments are done within a day)
  • Clinical breast examination,
  • 3D mammography with ultrasound breast and
  • Imaging-guided Tissue biopsy 
• Surgery +/- oncoplastic reconstruction 
• Adjuvant/Neo-adjuvant  treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine or targeted therapy)
• Physiotherapist
• Nutritionist
• Breast Care Specialist (post operation care, post mastectomy prosthesis and garments)
• Clinical Psychologist

Thyroid:

• Diagnostic assessment (Assessments are done within a day)
  • Clinical thyroid examination including blood investigations
  • Ultrasound examination, CT scan +/- MRI scan
  • Image guided aspiration cytology
• Surgery for thyroid & parathyroid diseases
• Adjuvant treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, radio-iodine Ablation)
• Endocrinologist consultation

Breast Surgery

• Breast conserving Surgery (Lumpectomy, Wide excision)
