#HEALTH: Raising funds for NKF

AS part of its third year anniversary campaign to highlight the importance of knowing one's family health history, Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) held a day of fun for the community to raise funds for the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF).
A total of 50 teams of four participated in the event, titled SMCV Treasure Quest 2022 that saw participants hunting for clues and treasures along the Sunway Velocity Township.
The event was open to members of the public, and each team submitted a participation fee – all of which was collected and donated to NKF.
"We are very encouraged by the public's willingness to contribute to this good purpose of helping others and look forward to having more such events with the community," says SMCV chief executive officer, Derrick Chan.
Through this event and the #FamilyHealthHistoryMatters, it is hoped that more Malaysians will be aware of the need to know their health history.
NKF chief executive officer, Khor Xin Yun says currently, there are approximately 1,700 dialysis patients receiving subsidised treatments in 29 dialysis centres nationwide with the numbers growing annually.
The funds received will help patients in their treatment and recovery process.
